2019-2021 Lee

Fabric R&D Manager

Championed new processes and ways of working in fabric development, innovation and R&D. Increased sustainable fiber adoption and water reduction efforts across the brand. Responsible for managing, leading and growing the fabric R&D process and pipeline calendar development in fabric for the Lee brand for  mens and womens. I managed the development, sourcing, and initial price negotiations seasonally to support regional fabric strategies. Develop and maintain fabric library, supplier relationships, and identify functional and departmental strategies. Provide technical expertise in fabric, trim and wash development at all stages of the product pipeline and partner with QA for testing analysis to ensure all standards of compliance and brand esthetics are met. Provide on-trend fabric and wash direction seasonally and manage the mill week process, bookings and share out to internal business partners, merchandising and design, agents and mill partners for seasonal fabric and wash development. Womens Denim Design Manager

Directed, developed and launched the womens Global Modern Heritage line; translating the brand’s language to reimagine iconic mens fits into immutable womens fits and finishes. Redesigned and relaunched the womens Ultimate Riding Jean. Lead concept designer for Wrangler x Fred Segal Launch. Key design lead on process and GTM calendar development. Responsible for developing the creative vision for the Wrangler Brand Women’s Denim segmentation and Modern Denim launch for North America, exceeding plan + 41% in modern and +4% in Western business units for 2018. Lead to grow a team of creative designers to develop and deliver innovative, brand right products to meet category and consumer business unit needs in cross functional work streams. Own creative aesthetic from concept to consumer for all product and assortment needs. Research emerging trends and styles and key influencer markets to strengthen brand image and maintain competitive positioning against key brand consumer targets. Review and critique prototypes, and product development. Discuss and strategize style changes and line enhancements with Merchandising. Responsible building product pipeline calendar, first cost and troubleshooting product development related problems to maintain calendar deadlines. Design and develop the Men’s denim, woven bottoms, and lounge seasonal assortment from concept to production. Conduct seasonal research to develop a market right point of view in fit, fabric, finish, print and yarn-dye wovens. Collaborate with Cad designer to give direction for woven bottoms and lounge prints and plaids. Design and manage line content through sketches, trim, fabric and wash development. Partner with Product Management and R&D to develop and cost denim and woven bottoms seasonal fabric/finish range. Create tools/boards to communicate seasonal point of view to Leadership and Merchants. Partner with Tech Design and give direction to develop and evolve fits. Work on-site to hit seasonal wash visuals, proto types and hit cost targets. Partner with merchandising to assort line content and build strategies for profitable growth. Manage workflow and projects with design interns and freelancers. Partner with V.P. to manage calendar and workflow processes for team when needed. Increased profits and total market share in Woven bottoms year over year consistently increasing GM Dollars 51% from 2010 to 2015.

2007- 2010 Levi’s Red Tab Boys

Designer

Modernized, diversified, and repositioned the assortment and increased distribution. Designed and develop the Boys Red Tab line from concept to production. Concept tested the commuter line for boys. Seasonal research to develop a market leading branded point of view in fit, fabric and finish in denim, woven bottoms and outerwear. Collaborate with Men’s design team to align on concept strategies and seasonal color. Design and manage line content through the development of sketches, tech packs, sundries development and approvals. Partner with product management to develop denim and non-denim seasonal fabric/finish range. Create tools/boards to communicate seasonal point of view to licensees, buyers and merchants. Lead fittings, partner with pattern makers and give direction to develop and evolve fits. Work on-site to hit seasonal wash visuals and cost targets. Partner with merchandising to create seasonal point of view and assort line content. Manage workflow and develop design assistant and freelancers. Increased profits and total market share year over year consistently. Revenue growth in 2010 was 19% above plan.

2003-2004 Fox Racing / Shift Supermoto + Kart

Technical designer / Pattern maker

Pattern drafting, fitting and constructing custom garments for sponsored athletes. Creating technical sketches, MRP tech packs, including engineering markers and grade specifications for technical outerwear and motocross bottoms. Lead fittings and collaborate closely with the design and R&D team to build new innovation in product. Pioneered the Supermoto class of functional outerwear for brand with focus on fit and protection by way of functional design. Managed work flow  for team of 6; pattern makers and sewers. Created departmental organizational tools, implemented prototyping and production efficiencies for internal sewing and tech team and was the key liaison between design, our internal sample room and production.
